Microsemi collaborates with New Wave DV to develop innovative networking products and IP cores

Microsemi Corpora TIon (NYSE: MSC), a leading provider of differentiated semiconductor technology solutions for power, safety, reliability and performance, announced with New Wave Design & VerificaTIon (New Wave) DV) Collaborate to develop network hardware and Fibre Channel IP cores. Now, both PMC/XMC cards and IP cores can be used in Microsemi's SmartFusion2® SoC FPGAs and IGLOO2® FPGA devices to accelerate development cycles for new defense, aerospace, enterprise networking and storage applications with Ethernet and/or Fibre Channel .

About Fibre Channel IP Core

This Fibre Channel IP core provides standard off-the-shelf Fibre Channel IP that can be implemented on FPGA devices by designers and system architects. New Fibre Channel core and application-level solutions with SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs or IGLOO2 FPGA devices create new opportunities in avionics, commercial aviation, defense (such as Joint Strike Fighter), enterprise networking and storage . About the PMC/XMC card

The four-port PMC/XMC board uses SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA or IGLOO2 FPGA devices to create new opportunities for airborne, shipboard, and ground-based aerospace and defense projects for which network security, performance and energy savings are the most important.

Four front panel ports provide up to 5G high-speed serial data links, and connectors on the back can be used for PCI, PCIe, XAUI, SRIO, or custom interfaces. The board uses the M2S150 SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA or M2GL150 IGLOO2 FPGA device, as well as onboard DDR3 and QDRII+ memory to provide offload and accelerate networking capabilities in FPGA devices. Together with deployed solutions, PMC/XMC cards are used worldwide for test laboratories, integrated laboratories, oil depots and gas stations. The PMC/XMC standard enables a truly modular solution that takes advantage of high-speed secure data transmission.
